Today brothers and sisters, we are inundated with negative news. Higher prices everywhere. More stress in people’s lives due to the miserable economy. TV is flooded with stories of people who are stocking a cache of supplies, food, water and weapons to prepare for some apocalyptic event.
Is it a denial of your faith to make such preparations?
I contend that is is absolutely NOT a denial of your faith. I believe being prepped is an act of faith. Faith in the word of God, as we see the signs of the season we are living in.
History teaches us that human misery on a mass scale happens the same way over and over again. It begins with a group of people who would make themselves tyrants and oppressors if we give them the opportunity. And sadly, we have given them that opportunity, and they are taking full advantage.
The world is in turmoil. The masses of people in this nation are sadly uninformed, ignorant, and lazy. So lazy in fact that they easily believe the lie from the left that they can coast through life without ever working to take responsibility for their own well-being.
When you see the agenda of the global elites who control world banks and the Federal Reserve, you come to realize that we are living in perilous times. People who share our Christian faith are seeing an alarming disdain shown by the current administration toward our Christian values. They’ve gone as far as trying to force business run by people of faith to comply with the health care provisions in Obama-care which require businesses/insurers to provide birth control, contraceptives, even the morning-after abortion pill.
At the same time, they are trying to ram same-sex marriage down the throats of churches and states, claiming that this is a matter of basic human rights.
They are blatantly crossing the lines, trying to provoke people of faith to lash out in anger. They are looking for any excuse to demonize people of faith, and to seize that opportunity to try and take away people’s rights, one at a time, beginning with the right to keep and bear arms.
So what should we do, as people of faith, to prepare for the hard times to come, and how do we know hard times will come?
Let me address the second part of that question first. We know hard times are c0ming because we know that any nation that turns it’s back on God and God’s laws(and goes far astray, sinning greatly, and showing no remorse) will be subject to the judgments of God.
And we know from John the Revelator that in these days there will be judgments poured out on this land. These judgments will continue to get more and more intense, severe, and hard-hitting.
Believing that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, I have no doubt whatsoever that America is on the brink of the hardest days in our history. Because we have allowed the holocaust of abortion, killing 60 Million babies, America will be judged.
For tinkering with the laws of nature, and manipulating nature through eugenics and genetic modification of foods, disease will continue to plague our people. The epidemic of type-2 diabetes is almost completely caused by the big agricultural powers that be engineering foods that make people ill, in conjunction with big pharmaceutical companies and the insurance racket.
We know also that war without end for the sake of propping up a series of mega-corporations(oil, defense contractors and of course the Arab Sheiks) has consequences.
We know that in the last decade, we have seen human suffering on a very large scale come to pass with more and more frequency, and each time a bit more deadly.
Think about it. There was the terrible tsunami in the Indian Ocean which killed over a quarter of a million people in places like Indonesia. The following summer there was Katrina. There were several other major storms in the U.S> and all around the world.
There was the B.P. oil spill, which was very harmful to the victims of Katrina.
Then there was the Japan earthquake of 3/11/2011, and the tsunami that followed, which is still killing victims thanks to the meltdowns at Fukushima.
That same spring, we saw the worst outbreak of tornadoes in the U.S. in recorded history. Hundreds of tornadoes in just a couple of days wiped out places like Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Joplin, Missouri.
And we have also seed drought. We have seen flooding. We have seen terrible wildfires. We have seen these things happen with such regularity that we come to expect these things to happen.
And yet people laugh at people who decide to be responsible and make provisions for themselves and their families because they are by nature sensible and responsible.
We’re not trying to gather bushels and bushels of manna, which would be sinful. But we are preparing for the days which will lead to the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus, and we are positioning ourselves in such a way that we can then minister to the needs of those who are in need in that terrible day of tragedy.
We have been equipped by our creator with sound minds, and skilled hands, and understanding that tells us to be responsible, and trust in no man, only trust in God, and believe that if He gives you a vision, tells you to make ready for the hardships to come, that He will reward us for being attuned to His spiritual leading.
You do not have to live in a grass hut or a FEMA camp. You don’t have to take handouts from the government. And you do not have to abandon your home just because there is no electricity or running water.
Preppers may strike some people as funny…until of course something terrible happens. Suddenly there is nothing funny about it.
It is no denial of faith to store up a food pantry with several months worth of food. There is nothing immoral about planning for a day of suffering.
We prep BECAUSE we beieve!
And the most imprtant prep you can make: Prepare your soul, and your heart, and your mind, by taking Jesus the Christ, as your personal Lord and Savior. That is the ultimate prep. Nothing else means anything if you do not know Jesus.
